The holidays are on the horizon. Who are we kidding? We’re clearly talking about Christmas. It’s the only holiday that’s coming up and some of us need some good soul food in our lives. Well, if you feel like we’re preaching to the choir then this post is for you. Now, for those of you expecting us to lay out exact recipes…aht aht…not in this post, friend. What we are doing is pointing you in the right direction to find the exact cookbooks that we used in the 1970s for our food recipes. Pretty sure some of ‘em include Big Mama’s words of culinary wisdom. We love to see these cookbooks because it gives us a glimpse into what we were cookin’ up in the kitchen back in the day.

Truth be told (and according to these reviews) some of these cookbooks have stood the test of time. It might be a good thing to gon’ ‘head and purchase one for yourself or for the designated chef in your family. Wouldn’t it be nice to give one of these rare cookbooks and keep the soul food tradition alive…from the 70s to now!
